Besseggen Fjellpark Maurvangen is run by mountain people — for hikers of all ages. We are located in the heart of Jotunheimen.
At 1000 meters above sea level, at the foot of Norway’s most visited mountain ridge, you’ll find Maurvangen Camping, part of Besseggen Fjellpark. Jotunheimen has attracted mountain enthusiasts throughout history and is today the most popular mountain area in Northern Europe. This part of Jotunheimen offers much more than Gjende, Valdresflya, and Besseggen, and the hosts at Besseggen Fjellpark are happy to show you both well-known and hidden natural gems.
Besseggen Fjellpark offers the following:

The mountain host
Tor Erik Moen has dedicated his life to Jotunheimen. Based at Besseggen Fjellpark, this mountain guide and park host knows the peaks and valleys, trails and idyllic mountain farms, hunting grounds and fishing lakes of Jotunheimen better than almost anyone. Few have covered more miles on foot around Gjende than Tor Erik — often accompanied by his award-winning dogs, which he breeds at Maurvangen Kennel. Feel free to ask him for hiking tips!
