Sauna by Gjende – a unique mountain experience.
Just a short walk from Besseggen Fjellpark, Maurvangen, you will find what may be one of Norway’s most scenic saunas. At Gjendesheim you can enjoy a wood-fired sauna right at the water’s edge, with spectacular views of Gjende and Besseggen. Perfect after a day in the mountains, or as a relaxing experience in its own right.
- Booking: The sauna must be booked in advance.
- Price: From NOK 200 per person (shared sauna), or NOK 600 per hour for private booking.
From Maurvangen, it takes about 40 minutes to walk to Gjendesheim, and the walk itself is an easy and enjoyable experience. See map and directions on Google Maps.
